Midcoast Maine's Premium Agricultural Event --

The Union Fair/Maine's Wild Blueberry Festival is one of Maine's oldest and most beloved agricultural fairs. Held annually in the town of Union, it began in 1869 as a harvest fair organized by the North Knox Agricultural & Horticultural Society and has been a fixture of Midcoast Maine life ever since.

A unique feature of the fair is that it is also home to the State of Maine Wild Blueberry Festival, which was added in 1959 to celebrate Maine's wild blueberry harvest. Popular traditions include:

Wild Blueberry baking contests — Agricultural exhibits — Livestock and 4-H competitions — Pulling events — Demonstrations
Midway rides & games — Craft & home art exhibits — Live entertainment & concerts

General admission includes exhibits, demonstrations, concerts, and parking, while ride bracelets are sold separately.

Why locals love it!

Unlike some larger commercial fairs, Union Fair has retained a strong agricultural focus. You'll still find cattle barns, sheep shows, local crafts, garden produce displays, grange exhibits, and educational exhibits alongside the rides and food stands.

The fair is run largely by volunteers and has deep roots in the surrounding farming communities.
