Judging Two-Crusted Wild Blueberry Pie Competition

Blueberry Acres
HOW TO ENTER:
1) Pies will be accepted on the Friday of the Fair, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
2) All pies must be accompanied by the recipe printed on a 4x6 index card. (No name please)
3) The Maine Wild Blueberry must be the only fruit ingredient.
4) All pies must be submitted in a clear glass pie plate.
5) One entry submitted per person for judging / entry fee waived with fair admission.
6) Participants must be present during announcement of winners.
7) Winning entries and recipes will be held on display during Union Fair.
PRIZES:
First Place $100.00, trophy, ribbon.
Second Place $60.00, trophy, ribbon.
Third Place $40.00, trophy, ribbon.
JUDGING: Judges will examine preparation, texture, flavor, and overall appearance of both the crust and the pie filling.
The Maine Wild Blueberry Festival and Union Fair reserve the right to deny or disqualify
any entry which does not meet the qualifications for this competition.
Winners are invited to participate in the finals of the State of Maine Two-Crusted
Wild Blueberry Pie competition in Augusta in January 2009.
Winning recipes will be used to further promote the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival and Union Fair.
Prizes presented by the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival and Union Fair.
